Canned 1/22/20 "Size Doesn't Matter"
(Lets find out if that's true. :) ) Let the can sit out for 15 minutes or so.
Dark chestnut brown , with some light coming through. More of a faint glow than some distinct beams. Moderate tan head, that leaves a 1/4" ring, and a thin coating.
Smell is cola, cocoa powder, chocolate cake batter, black coffee, slight peaty char, and occasionally something woody and sweet. (Assuming that is the maple .)
Taste is a very definite maple flavor - much more noticeable than in the aroma - , light roasted nuts (almond+walnut) , slight cola tang, slight chocolate brownie (the crust) , but about half as sweet , with some light pleasant drying bitterness.
The standard , higher abv version of this has coffee. As this is no longer on tap (very small batch?) , 2 Instagram posts are my only source of info. No mention of coffee, but it's possible there is some. If so, it's a very light touch with it.
Feel is light, with some very fine carbonation tingle, that leaves a mild , lingering burn on the tip of the tongue.
Overall, well-balanced , easy-drinking , & enjoyable. Not overly sweet, and the maple is recognizable, but doesn't taste artificial. Recommend giving it a try, if you enjoy stouts of the non-BA, non-over-the-top-with-sweetness sort.
