Moderately hazy lemon-juice-yellow, with light, quickly-dissipating white head, that leaves 1/2" of spotty lacing.

Smell is medium-strong acetic sourness, then light freshly-sliced cucumber, that has both the aroma of skin and flesh. There is also a smell that gave an initial impression of pickled (ripe) hot peppers, but upon warming and longer exposure, comes across as watermelon rind, from a watermelon that has been sliced open, and is past prime. No distinct lime aroma. Overall, the initial impression is that I opened the wrong beer , and this is really Fruta con Tajin , their mango/lime/habanero(or sometimes chipotle) beer. Hmmm? Different color & opacity, so I know that's not the case, though.

Taste is is initially lemony, then shifts to limey, with some faint cucumber, then watermelon rind. That last bit lingers, with a brief hint of sweetness coming in at finish. The overall impression is of poblano pepper skin, not watermelon.

Feel is light and jammy, with light, very, very fine carbonation tingle coming in towards finish. Of course, the usual mucilaginous sourness lingers at the back of the palate.

Overall, I like it , but......it doesn't live up to the description. Other than adding a little sweetness, and (maybe?) changing the impression of the lime to lemon , the watermelon misses the mark, and detracts from it. Perhaps if it had a different name, that didn't describe the fruit within, expectations would be different, and it would be easier to enjoy it for what it is? I like watermelon rind pickles - from my own fresh watermelons, that have a thin, crisp rind (I.e. not old, thick rinds) - but I don't necessarily want to drink them. ;)
