Imperial Milk Stout brewed with 1886 malted barley, specially roasted dark grains and flaked oats. Conditioned on specialty roasted cocoa nibs and liquid cocoa and then swirled with graham cracker and marshmallow. Grab some friends, build a fire and pour a glass. It’s time for Campfire Tales.

This one pours jet black with a very dark mahogany highlight. A short-lived, light khaki head of fine foam quickly falls from one half inch to a ring. Large spots of lace are left on the Pretentious Glass Company Imperial snifter.
The aroma opens with sweet chocolate syrup with a background of dark roasted malt. Vanilla and graham crackers can also be found, and warmth brings out light marshmallow.
Sweetness carries forward into the flavor. Unfortunately, the first characteristic is a chemically vanilla. Chocolate shows up later, before the astringency kicks in and builds to a harsh level in a bitter finish.
This has a medium body with a satin smooth texture and fine, light carbonation. The alcohol is strong, about as expected.
It is possible that something is off with this particular can because it is far from any of the flavor or aroma expectations. I found it to be far from the style expectations as well. I was still able to finish it on a clear, cool summer afternoon.

16oz undated can.
Pours dark mahogany with crimson edging. A short head of tan gave way to minimal retention or lacing. Big burnt sugar and vanilla in the nose. Faint chocolate and spice reminiscent of Cinnamon. Medium bodied with a soft, chewy mouthfeel. A bit thin for the style. Sweet up front on the palate with vanilla and torched sugar, chocolate syrup, and some faint warmth. Finishes quite sweet with lots of vanilla.

Canned late September, tasted 12/1/20. Really good stout! A bit on the sweet side, but enough roasty notes to balance out the sweetness. Rich and smooth, and loaded with flavor. A delicious treat of a beer. So far, 3 for 3 in terms of the stouts I've tried from Beer Tree - nice job folks!

Black, with one finger of dark tan head, that leaves a thin ring and spotty lacing.
Smell is liquid chocolate, coconut, and vanilla. Overall, it has a liqueur-like aroma . Mmmmm!!!
Taste is semi-sweet chocolate, a slightly bitter roasted nut flavor, vanilla, and a bit of wheat germ. Some light bitterness comes in late, and lingers.
Feel is moderately syrupy/oily, with light carbonation, that gives a slight bite on the tip of the tongue, near finish.
Overall, just fantastic. Nicely-done! This is decadent ,and flavorful, without being cloyingly sweet . Enough bitterness and carbonation bite to balance the sweetness (as usual, for BTBC), and make it a joy to drink. Big, sweet stouts aren't my thing, in general, but I am thoroughly enjoying this one.
