Canned 8/20/21. Let sit out for ten minutes before opening.
Opaque pinkish gold , with about one finger of ivory head. Looks like a mix of apricot nectar and pink grapefruit juice.
Smells mostly of guava, plus a vague tropical fruit mix . Occasional flashes of fresh banana aroma, as one would get when peeling one.
Taste is banana puree, papaya, then guava, but in relatively balanced proportion, unlike in the aroma. Slight bitter herbal flavor towards finish. (Michigan Copper hops?) . Light sour tang from the guava, that lingers after finish.
Feel is thick, creamy and juicy, with light, sharp, fine carbonation coming in late , that has a slight drying effect, and leaves the front of the tongue feeling sanded off.
Overall a nice fruited sour. The slight bitter herbal flavor, and the drying finish are a nice surprise, as they prevent an overly-sweet mess. The flavors are just as labeled - no need to imagine, or strain to detect them [a la the "Seaside View" in Bob Newhart's real estate agent bit - check it out if you can find it. :PPP]. Given the amount of fruit additions that make this happen , it is necessarily heavier than the abv might lead you to imagine. Don't expect to want more than one, and leave time for a nap afterward. :)
