From a crowler, filled 10/26 .
Slightly hazy medium amber, with two fingers of tan head, that leaves a thick ring, and a small amount of lacing.
Smell is toffee, caramel, bready malt, and something sweet . That sweet element isn't exactly maple syrup-like. A bit like maple sap while it is being boiled-down - mostly wood , with some vague sweetness.
Taste is brown bread, slight toffee & caramel - less so than is typical - , a vague hint of something fruity, and a bit of wood. That wood flavor bounces between oak and maple. (Used to heat with wood, & the woodpile was in the dark, so I sampled feel, smell, & taste of the various woods, so I could ID in the dark, & get a good mix of what I wanted. ;) )
Feel is medium, slightly slick, with light, very, very fine carbonation.
Overall, pretty good, though I probably should have had it sooner, and might have been better. Get the occasional flashes of oxidation, mostly in aroma. The wood , both aroma & flavor, takes some getting used to, but after mental adjustment, I'm liking it. I'd get this again next year, if offered.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
