We took our original Color Trees recipe, increased the ABV and upped the oat content. We used Columbus for a small balanced bitter charge and then dose this one heavy with Citra, Citra Cryo and Strata in both the WP and Double Dry Hop. We use a touch of lactose to meld the flavors together and add a little extra oomf to the already super creamy mouth feel.

Canned 5/11/23, so 5 days old.

Hazy yellow, with two fingers of creamy white head.

Smells of pineapple, fresh bitter orange (Citrus × aurantium), and a hint of cream. In the first instant of pouring, I got a little fresh oatmeal. From the open can there is a vague citrus mix, and a hint of pine & green onion.

Taste is fresh grapefruit, pineapple, bitter orange as in the aroma, and slight creamsicle. Light bitterness.

Feel is initially lightly creamy, and juicy. Just past midway, some very, very fine carbonation bite and slight hop astringency kick in. Guessing the slight hop burn will fade in a week or so. No noticeable alcohol presence.

Overall, smooth & easy-drinking. Reminds me of their Pineapple Creamsicle plus some more citrus and bitterness. Perhaps a blend of Pineapple Creamsicle and Citra Grove? I do wish it had a bit more bitterness, a la Beer Tree's original wares, from the first 2- 2/1/2 years. Nonetheless, this is pretty good, and enjoyable.
