Canned 8/23/23. This time, a collaboration with Definitive Brewing Company, & 8.1% .
Reviewed 9/8/23.
Let sit out for 5 minutes before opening.
Gift from a co-worker. [Thanks, Amy! :) ]
Opaque, hazy yellow, with 1+ fingers of creamy ivory head, that leaves a thin ring, & 3/8" of lacing.
Open can brings an ample waft of candied pineapple and grapefruit marmalade . From the glass , I get that, plus kiwi, plus fresh-squeezed orange, plus prickly pear, & a little mango, papaya, and cream.
Taste is grapefruit, a little unripe peach/peach pit, pineapple creamsicle, kiwi, melon, white grape, and tropical melange. Moderate , lingering bitterness, that nicely balances the sweeter elements.
Feel is juicy, slightly creamy , with moderate carbonation tingle/burn. Just a hair hot, which I'm guessing will fade in 2-3 weeks. Slight drying at & after finish.
Overall, just fantastic. Nice balancing bitterness that harkens back to some of the early BTBC brews! (Rather than the sweeter offerings of more recent times) More like this, please. :)
