16oz canned 3-1-20. Opened 3-8-20.
Gold Crash base beer infused with lemon and herbal tea.
1 finger white head sits for a few minutes before finally receding to a solid cap. Amber gold colored ale, fully opaque. Fresh patchy lacing throughout.
The nose is full of tea notes (mint, light menthol, eucalyptus, green, dandelion (?)) and the lemon is lively and bright. Has a honey and lemon character to it that reminds me of a cold home remedy...not medicinal at all just the memory of the comfort. Some floral aromas as well that relate to the honey notes.
Flash of lemon followed by the tea flavors that follow closely with the aromas mentioned above. Light doughy malt flavor comes through late.
Light and bright body, medium carbonation and a dry finish - maybe even a touch of light tannic dryness from the tea.
Very good.
I've enjoyed the base beer a few times and this an interesting and refreshing take on it.
