16oz canned 4-8-20. Opened 4-18-20.
1 finger pink tinged head, decent retention and hangs in at 1/4". Surprisingly deep pink/red/purple (almost pomegranate juice color) and opaque IPA. Light lacing.
Sweet berry, pomegranate, earthy and a little herbal. Very similar flavor to the aroma. The berry flavor is deep, slightly sweet and then a touch green and drying. No hop aroma or flavor perceptible in this IPA - the elderberry is dominant.
Medium in body and mouthfeel, expected more of a full/smooth combo in a milkshake/lactose IPA. The beer finishes unexpectedly dry given the sweet berry aroma and initial sweet berry flavor.
Unique and tasty beer just not easy to recognize as an IPA (milkshake or otherwise).
Good to Very Good is my impression as an enjoyable beer and not judged to any style.
