Off-white foam on the dark amber brew. Funny, at first sip (and smell) it tastes just like the ESB. There is maybe a little touch of dark cherry in this one, but both have the fruity British malt taste. Warm, malty, almost rich. a lot of flavor for the modest ABV. Not any detectable peaty or smokey notes. Easy drinking with a slight bitterish finish. Very slight. A little dark wood rather than hoppy bitterness. From the tap at the brewery tasting room off Alvernon.
