A local watering hole with laughter, games on the tvs, and wholesome grub. The seasonal beers are the ones to check out, some really fun ingredients used actually. Service is friendly and attentive. Not the largest selection on tap, but they don't mind you bringing bottles for a corkage fee or for sharing

Stopped in with a buddy on a Saturday night 'cause we needed something new to do. Place is nestled a block away from the 14 bend and the train station, seemingly the edge of the narrow shopping district in the downtown area, plenty of parking around. Having not been in the building for a decade - when the place was under different management and all - I was taken with how much brighter and more inviting the place is now: fairly bright woods everywhere (I'm thinking light walnut, but I could be very wrong), bar to the left once inside, tables to the right and through to the back, where some games can be found with a view of the brewing equipment. It all feels like a converted warehouse space that has been taken over by a craft brewery. Weird. Selection is pretty solid, if relatively limited, as the range ran the gamut from IPA to gold to "white stout" to O-fest ('tis the season) to saison and so forth; said "white stout" was made with coffee and chocolate from sources literally just down the street. Neat. A few rotating guest offerings in cans/bottles go with a longer list of stalwarts. Quality's pretty solid, nothing necessarily exceptional, but I wouldn't be averse to having a pint or two every so often if I lived on the immediate area. Staff are attentive and very genial, and the table service (a rarity nowadays, but a welcome one given the lack of openings at the bar) is rather good. Didn't have any food, so no comment. Prices are on par (if not good) for the area: a full flight, two pints, two guest cans, and tip landed me about $40. Not bad at all. Overall, a nice little place, especially for the greater Cary Grove area, one we're likely gonna be hitting up again in the near future.

Been frequenting Cary Ale House quite a bit since they started tapping their own beers on draft. I really enjoy the atmosphere, toes the line of being both a brewpub and dive bar type of place.
Food is very good, they usually have rotating daily/weekly specials, I haven't had a bad item yet, and pretty much everything is homemade; from the ketchup to their salad dressings.
Beer list is like other places very seasonal, I enjoy their own beers they brew and they usually have some recent releases on tap from guest breweries; there is definitely plenty on tap to accommodate different palates. Otherwise, the bottle list is quite large.
Definitely suggest getting there early on weekends, when the place gets crowded there really isn't a waiting room so you are sometimes standing on top of tables waiting to be seated.

Better than average brew pub, offering daily food specials and a very tasty selection of items on the regular menu. A strong selection of beers, refreshed on a regular basis. The Cary Ale House just added their in house brews, with a limited sample of beers - of special note is the limited Coffee Porter which is quite good.
