Part of a beer flight at the brewery. Poured into a 5 ounce tasting glass. Minimal head, very cloudy body the color of apricot juice. Decent lacing while consumed. It has a very pleasing citrusy aroma. The first sip is all about the grapefruit and apricot tang, followed by the cleansing of the hops bitterness. The 7.8% abv is well hidden in the flavor of the beer. Excellent Imperial IPA!

Smells is of apricots and look is as cloudy as can be. Taste is good not amazing. It follows the smell but muted. Very little head if any. I would recommend.

I believe this is their flagship beer (if it isn't, it needs to be) and it's extremely good. I always get a pour of it when I'm at Five Churches and I've even found it on tap at a place in New Haven. It looks like straight up orange juice, but it strangely has no head. Very citrus forward - the definition of a juice bomb. Be sure to try it when you go.
I'll just say this: If Tree House released this beer, the line would be at least 200 people deep.

not bitter at all, one of the smoothest beers I have ever drank, and one of my favorites. Smell of citrus on the nose but goes down so incredibly smooth. An awesome IPA.

Drank on tap at Five Churches Brewing Company, New Britain, CT
Served in a tulip
Cloudy yellow ochre appearance. The turbid body was capped by a frothy, finger-tall, off-white head that dropped to a thin ringlet. A patchy wall of lacing trickled all along the glass.
Fantastic aroma. Really hoppy, fragrant and smooth. Super fruit forward. Nice mix of citrus and tropical fruit notes. Loads of freshly squeezed orange juice. Ripe mango also came through strong. Bit of day-old fruit salad too. Touch of musty dankness.
The flavor was similar to the nose and perhaps even more impressive. Really juicy, fruity and smooth. Freshly squeezed OJ dominated initially. Some tart tangerine was noticeable as well. Big tropical fruit presence in the center. Loads of ripe mango. A touch musty and dank. More tangerine on the back end. The beer finished with a subtle orange rind quality and just the slightest hint of pithy bitterness.
As fantastic as the aroma and flavor were, the mouthfeel was perhaps even better. Super slick and smooth on the palate. Amazingly creamy, soft and plush. Many New England-style IPAs utilize flaked wheat or oats for suppleness, but this beer was truly on another level in this regard.
If Five Churches’s other beers are anywhere near as good as Steeple People, then I am definitely sold on them. It is great to see a business like this breath new life into a particularly depressed area of an economical challenged city, while producing an absolutely killer product. I look forward to returning again soon and trying more of their beers, along with that awesome New Haven-style, brick oven pizza.

Out of the gate these guys hit a home run. Poured from a fresh 750mL growler, this comes out golden and hazy. Really bright flavors, lots of peach (I assume from the yeast), with a good tropical hop wallop with notes of pineapple, too. Semi-sweet, nice smooth and chewy body. Absolutely killer beer.
