How did I come to get this CAN? I was at the Roy Pitz CANnivesary party in PHL not this past Saturday, but Saturday a week prior (Sa, 23 June 2018) & their facility is in extremely close proximity to both the newest Yards & Love City B.C. so we did a walking tour. Imagine my elation, shock & surprise when the owner comes out to greet us & it was none other than Kevin Walter! Kevin was the second brewer at IHLNC, but when he moved on, I lost track. He was gracious enough to gift one of each of his CANned offerings to me for inclusion in The CANQuest (tm) & here we go!
From the CAN: "Wheat Beer".
The brewery's website also makes this sound like a Witbier, so I did some in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing the vent on this one. This seemed to work to my advantage as it was pouring very cloudy once I beCAN my Glug. I got two fingers of fizzy, foamy, bone-white head as the result of my efforts, but they were short-lived in the heat & humidity & quickly reverted to wisps. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose was redolent with coriander! Whoa! The taste was very spicy, a bit overdone with the use of coriander and peppercorn to the point that it overwhelmed all of the other adjuncts. I got a light banana flavor which led me to wonder if it might not have been a Hefeweizen. I will inquire with Kevin on my next visit. Hmm. Either way, it was just too spicy to be truly enjoyable. Finish was dry, naturally, and while it was refreshing in terms of slaking my thirst, it was lingering with a pepperiness that made me reach for water. As the first reviewer (NOT rater), I will be interested to see what others think.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
