Our signature hazy IPA is a love letter to our neighborhood, the Eraserhood. Off-beat and vibrant, this IPA is triple dry- hopped. Huge flavors of mango and pineapple with a smooth, round body. Moderate malt backbone and juicy finish.

My favorite daily drinker, especially in a frozen glass. A perfect balance of smoothness and flavor.

Love City Brewing Co. "Eraserhood"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating.
Notes via stream of consciousness: I've never even seen "Eraserhead", although I have seen snippets. It didn't look that good to me but maybe I should give it another shot. I'm not even sure where I could find it now but it's probably on YouTube. Anyway, this has poured a hazy golden body beneath a full head of densely creamy white foam. In the nose I'm getting tropical fruit that's mainly pineapple. There's some melon, orange, and mango as well. It's not super bright although this is supposedly triple dry-hopped. On to the flavor then... not surprisingly it follows the aroma. The pineapple doesn't dominate though, it's much more balanced. What else is there? Guava for one, soursop or guanabana, and nectarine. It's not that bitter at all but there is a light acidity to it, and a bit of "hop burn" that help to balance it and leave it mostly dry in the finish. I was expecting this to be a little fuller but I'm quite pleased with it as it is - you could drink a lot of these! What's the ABV? Ahh, 7.2%, that's not bad. You could still drink at least three of these. The mouthfeel is light-medium and creamy-smooth with a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation. All of those extra proteins help, and on that note I didn't mention the malt at all. There's definitely some lovely floral oats to it, and delicately grainy malt that's got to be 2-row barley. I think there might also be some Pils as it's just a touch grassy. Regardless, whatever's in it, it's a delicate and lightly sweetish malt base that supports the tropically fruity hop notes really well.

12oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $2. Canned on 8/16/22, so this is 12 days old.
Look: Significantly hazy with a medium orange hue. Quite translucent. Looks a bit like unfiltered peach/orange/mango juice. There is a short white small-bubbled head and some chalky hop sediment on the bottom of the glass.
Smell: There's a strong green note coming out of this - very grassy, green bell pepper. There's also tropical notes - mango, orange, papaya. Not much else. Smells like a typical NEIPA.
Taste: It's a decent hazy IPA. Overall, it's pretty well balanced in that it's not so sweet up front and it has a decent bitter bite on the finish to counterbalance the fruitiness up front. The finish is green and pithy.
Feel: The mouthfeel is medium bodied. It doesn't have the soft and fluffy mouthfeel that I would come to expect from many other NEIPAs. It's nicely carbonated.
Overall: It's alright, not my favorite NEIPA. I haven't had so many other Love City beers, but I think that I would prefer their other styles more than this one. Even though it's so fresh, it unfortunately has a bit of hop burn.

16 ounce can poured into a tulip glass. No canning information. This beer is mislabeled here as an American IPA when it is clearly a NEIPA, I mean, look at the picture of the can.
L---Hazy, medium gold color. Big, fluffy white head had great retention and left beautiful lacing. There are some yeaty floaters, not that there's anything wrong with that.
S_--The advertised mango and pineapple are dominant. Bright & hoppy.
T---Malts are noticeable. Mango & pineapple, other tropical fruitiness.
F---Medium/light bodied. Ample carbonation. A slight bitter bite.
O---A really nice one. I'm really liking Love City.

Light hazy gold on the pour, hoppy aroma. Good amount of citrus flavor, with a nice balanced bitterness on the backend. A little lighter than I want for a 7.5 percent beer.

Two finger plus of off-white foam, pocked surface, fine retention leaving a solid lacing ring at the former liquid high point. The golden liquid hazy while not adopting a “puree” look, no visible bubbles. Pine and dry leafy matter stiffen the nose, in turn the malts form as well, tar and resin notes, light grapefruit, the fruit mainly melon, peach, apricot, not registering much tropical presence. Light to medium-bodied, carbonation helps it swell in the middle, allows it to tighten up the finish well. Clean, not much dankness at hand, minor tar to leafy notes. Loads of melon fruit, supplemented by peach and mango. Juicy tangerine to tangelo fruit. Subtle pie crust accents in the background. No real bitter bite yet does not lose shape nor contour as a result. Like its smoothness and for me high degree of “crushability.” (No canning date, in this day and age brewery please provide consumer with essential information)

Wondering what a pint can of Erasherhood poured into a clear Imperial pint glass can reveal? Maybe this will help. This hazy IPA is a little less hazy than many of this variety and also a little less dense in color. This possible negative harbinger is offset by a very nice fluffy head that leaves considerable lacing. There is also a very pleasant hop and malt odor above the glass. The brew drinks quite well, as all of the basics of a New England IPA are covered very satisfactorily. There's
some malt, some hops, some fruitiness and softening starches; in all a pleasant balance. Perhaps a little toward the lighter side in taste and mouth feel, Erasherhood still answers all the desires of someone seeking a good NEIPA. This is an upstanding, without being outstanding member of the category.

Draft at brewery. Hazy pour, scant white head. Aroma and taste are dry, light citrus, hay, straw. Seems a lot closer to a brut IPA. Not juicy at all.
