A very dark garnet color with well roasted malt giving a bit of a chocolate aroma and flavor. The chocolate flavor is followed by a kind of plum/fig and a pretty good lingering roastiness. The alcohol was not overbearing, but you knew you were drinking a stronger beer. All in all I liked it enough to have a pint after I tried it in a flight.
