This beer is dedicated to all the Angry Grandpa's out there fed up with how things just "aren't the way they used to be." Just like angry grandpas, this beer is a little more bitter than the rest. But with a 6.6 lb per bbl hop combo of hand selected Citra and Simcoe, this beer does not lack anything in the flavor department. Heavy notes of citrus and pine dominate the flavor profile. And although a tad bit hazy in appearance, this double IPA screams West Coast due to its traditional assertive hop bitterness and low residual sugar content.
Malts: 2-Row,Golden Promise, Carafoam, Wheat
Hops: Simcoe & Citra
Yeast: American Ale

Can dated A Little Bitter Than The Rest 09/17/20 into a goblet glass.
L: Pours hazy dirty orange bronze with 1 finger of low-density eggshell white head with limited retention and hints of spotted lacing.
S: Nose is tropical forward, with dank elements hiding underneath. Plenty of passionfruit and pomegranate.
T: More equal balance between the tropical and dank aspects, some added citrus. Finishes with moderate bitterness and some astringency and acidity, astringency lingers.
F: Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation, tongue burns a bit from alcohol and tingles from carbonation/acidity, slick on swallow.
O: There's aspects I really like and some I can do without. I think I'd like it better with 1% less ABV, think it would have more dynamic character and be more rounded in its 'edges'.
Did love the name and label (even with their simplistic graphics).

First review on beeradvocate. Everyone else is a poser. Had this on the way down to Paso Robles I believe. Impressed by Moksa, but being the only ones there one early afternoon, at 11am or noon was it on a Friday? Anyways, great name, kind of called me back to the Simpsons episode of angry dad with grandpa.
Appearance is a solid amount of clarity to be proud of and a sizeable 3/5" white head. Aroma pops hard on Simcoe and a lesser amount of Citra(?). There is some citrus rind kind of aroma vibe to it.
Taste, oh yeah, this is 90s bitterness chopped through a dry light pale toasted malt backbone that is barely there. Your old ipa buddy will dig this (shit I am that guy). Simcoe pushes weight in a fat way here. Like a mack truck. Angry grandpa don't wanna be a thug, he is a thug, and his bitter self dominates but in that charming way like family. This was kind of similar to that Green Emeralds beer from Fieldwork. I think I had this one first.
