We'd never thought we would see the day that people come up to the bar and order beer based on how hazy it is. It's weird AF to be honest. This is strange to type but we feel there is still a desire for a clear, crisp West Coast IIPA. For that reason, and the fact that we think they're effin' delicious, we will continue to make this "forsaken" style for all, errr, some of you to enjoy. We hopped this beer with a 6.6 lb per bbl combo of all hand selected Idaho 7, Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe.

Clear, handsome amber brew with long-lasting foam in the tall Blanche de Chambly glass. Aromatic with mango and citrus. Rather sweet and with malty body. Hot and strong but not overly acidic. Distinct papaya flavor with grapefruit aftertaste. I taste marmalade with the bitter Seville oranges.

Moderate bitterness and tasting of alcohol. Tangy and malty-sweet. Overall, this is a better than average DIPA that makes for a flavorful sipper. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine & Vine. Dated 01/06/21 on the bottom.

Canned 12/17/18

Appearance - Pours with a very slight haze, golden orange with an off-white, near finger width head. Sub-par retention results in a mostly barren surface with an island of suds in the center and a thin ring around the edge of the glass. No real lacing to speak of.

Smell - Mild grapefruit, dank, herbal/floral character and a touch of stonefruit.

Taste - Follows the nose. Citrusy, herbal / earthy character, and a good bit of dank. Some stonefruit mid-taste. Hints of biscuity malt. Strong notes of grassy and lemony pith bitterness in the finish that linger in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - On the heavier side of medium-bodied with low-to-moderate carbonation. Slightly chewy with a fairly dry finish. Drinks easy enough for 8.5%.

Overall - Good beer. definitely fits the mold of a West Coast Double. Some aspects of the flavor I love, and some of it I don't. A drinkable beer with interesting character, but nothing I'd go out of my way to drink again.
