This is our first beer in our "Brewer's Beer Series" where we showcase low alcohol sessionable beers, similar to what Brewer's prefer to drink after (or during) their shift. "Rocklin Lager" is a Czech-Style Pilsner layered with European malts and hops. We also added a small dry hop of Czech Saaz hops for a little extra flavor. Order a pint of this and drink like a Brewer.

Picked up a 4 or 6 pack of this at the source, I dunno if its bc of the similar color design label wise, but I dunno if I can tell this from live, laugh, lager. And that is a good thing because they're both really good.

Pours an impressive yellow gold with top tier clarity and 3/5" white head. Very good looking beer. The aroma has a heavy lager sulphur like nose in the most complimentary of ways (dry sulphur, not rotten egg sulphur). Light lemon/grapefruit rind note.

Taste brings that lemon rind Saaz hop note out even better. The yeast is still pushing stronger though, but its right in my wheelhouse of lager yeast first, traditional noble hop bitterness next. The malt body is simple two row and pilsen it seems, carbonation dialed in to compliment the snappy hoppiness with a snappy bitter, crisp barley body to hook it up.

For the record, this is slightly more traditional than the aforementioned LLL, which uses Crystal hops, whereas this has Saaz. While Moksa seems to be known as a pastry stout purveyor, I really think their lager game is top notch stuff, as good as anything in CA like Moonlight, and their hop game is really good too (but there's tons of those around).

Can from John's Marketplace.

A mildly hazy light yellow with a dense white head with good retention and lacing this looks solid. The nose is mildly hoppy with lemon, grass, mint, a mild earthy, doughy pils malt character along with a cleanly fermented base. Moderate sweetness is noticeable, particularly on the palate, where there is a mild but noticeable sweetness with a light caramel and honey note is present. There's a mild bitterness with earth, lemon and mint, but too lacking in character to be on the next level. Mildly sweet on the finish with a nice hop character but with too.much sweetness, this is decent.
