1st review of this beer on BA, again, kind of a shock to me since I had this beer almost a year ago.
Pours a darker yellow leaning into light amber hazy gravy like appearance with less viscocity. 1/2" white head. Aroma is a nice one, good punch of Nelson hops bringing that dank weed fertilizer humid hippie body odor note. Not really familiar with Southern Cross or Pacifica hops, but Motueka is known but those three take a back seat to Nelson in the nose.
The taste is furthered by a nice bittering hop combination, really seems to still have the weed bit going for it, I think the Southern Cross put across a nicer, softer bitterness compared with say Simcoe (which is also nice). Moteuka doing that dual use thing where it has tropical and citrus fruit, again in a soft, mild way. Nelson still carries the day here. Very good beer all over. Sawft describes the malt bill too, you know how it goes, flaked oats & wheat, sawfter bitterness, here from both the body and hops.
