1st review of this beer on BA = zero karma points like Tawd intended. Cool name.
Brings that light amber appearance you see as the triple ipas start coming in darker than some of those ultra lite dipas that are all the rage (rightfully so). 1/3" creamy head. An aroma fulfilling the mixture of Simcoe, Centennial and Citra. No frills, hits just as you would expect with the rind, woody pine and light orange assertions in the nose. Aroma is definitely where you see a little separation from the traditional to the proprietary hops and this is a good example of that.
Taste brings a throwback like aspect to the beer with that Citra hinting at things to come. Primarily drops that Simcoe and Centennial rind and pine bitterness and flavor throughout. The Citra orange and tangerine is in a supporting role to those lead hop actors. Light sweetness and alternating bitterness in the mouth feel. It does bring some booziness aka heat but it is a double digit abv. But it is a discernable difference say from their 8-8.5% dipas. Scaling up that additional 2% really separates the 1st tier triple ipas from all the rest. Sure I'd buy a 4 pack of cans because sometimes you just gotta get your buzz on quickly.
