Imagine a dark chocolate version of Nutella with a dose of high quality coffee. Party Time, Excelente is an imperial stout treated with Guatemalan cacao nibs, Mexican vanilla beans and Columbian hazelnut coffee.

poured from a 500mL bottle into a TG MD snifter. pours a darker yet somewhat see through brown but gathers in the glass a glossy black with a finger of dark brown fizzy foam. this is all hazelnut on the smell and taste. there’s some underlying roast but i get the feeling that is more from the base imperial stout than from the coffee. perhaps a bit of chocolate and vanilla on the finish but i’d honestly never guess that there was coffee in this beer. fortunately i really enjoy hazelnut but even still it’s a little one note. it has a medium-full mouthfeel with a slick, almost peanut oily finish. enjoyable, if you like hazelnut, but was hoping for a little more coffee.
