Duplexity is a new series of bottles that we have created to showcase how the marriage of two barrels, similar or different, can create a more complex product than if it were to be released as a single barrel. And similar to our Singularity Series, the liquid in these barrels is left untreated to emphasize the barrel character produced by the oak and the barrel's previous occupants.
Duplexity: Saz18 is an Imperial Stout that was aged in two 18 year old Sazarac Rye Whiskey barrels for 21 months. Compared to other offerings in the Duplexity Series, this iteration has the most barrel character and finishes with a hint of rye spice. No need to age it further, we already did that for you.

Sweet rye and umami on the nose, with hints of char. Palate brings lots of dark fruit, umami, spiced barrel, and smoked nuances. Soft feel with a comfortable carbonation. Finishes very smooth; a really nice rye barrel expression.

Sweetened dark chocolate, hint of rye spiciness, and smooth barrel boozy nose on this one! Taste follows with a deliciously balanced and integrated, chocolate, dark fruit, and rye whiskey barrel finish. This is so smooth! And, as it warms, the mouthfeel becomes almost "luscious" Is this the best Duplexity yet?! Great!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
