A-This beer has a warm golden brown body with a thick white head that turns bubbly and fades after a sip. There is a gentle carbonation seen in through the clear body.

S- This beer has a green bitter hop smell but no depth and not even a noble hop quality to it. There are no notes of malt even after it warms.

T- This beer has a taste of pale malt with a very light toast note to it followed by a pungent bitter hop finish. As it warms there is a slight taste of pine resin but this beer is all about the bitterness.

M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel but the texture is a bit watery.

D- I do like a big hoppy beer as much as the next person but this beer has no hop aroma or flavor just big bitterness. I could hardly get though it and the hint of malt didn't offer any depth either.

Pours up good like an APA should: dark gold with a fine head.

Smells like strong hops and solvent alcohol. The hops are nice, the alcohol is not. Nothing complex, but pretty good.

Tastes like it smells. Straight hops up front. No complexity, just plain hops. Not very strong, either. Very weak malt comes in after the hops and it's all followed up by a not very nice chemical aftertaste.

Nothing remarkable about this beer at all. The aftertaste makes it a bit hard to drink (which seems to be a recurring thing at this brew pub), and otherwise it's a completely average APA.

Had this beer at Govnor's Pub in Chicago. Overall, I was not so impressed. This was a fairly bland ale with a bit of a smoky flavor to it. Poured a greyish brown color. A nice malty body with little hops aroma or bitterness. I figured this ale is more to please the average beer drinker looking for a change to plain lagers rather than an adventurous brew for the more experienced.

Had this pale ale at the brewpub in Lake in the Hills and found it to be fresh and quite well made, although I found the aroma to be a bit lacking. An amber colored brew, this beer had good amounts hops played against a background of caramel malt flavors. The esters were fairly low, with spicy hops and caramel malt being the most noticeable flavors. The finish was fairly bitter and long with a hint of hop spiciness. I nice example of an English-style pale ale, with a bit of kicked up hops.

Served draft, at the Chicago Govnors. I have to say this is somewhat lacking, and I'm usually loath to mark down any earnest brewpub fare. A light brown, almost ochre color with a thin head. The malt profile is undistinguished, and the bitterness took some time to assert itself. Definitely a decent English ale base, but they just don't run with it. A good enough session beer, but there are so many incredible pale ales out there.
