Objectively reviewed before a host of other sampled beers.

Arrived in a GI pint glass with a full creamy head of foam. Visible streams of carbonation drifted upward through the crimson-toned liquid. Some lace around the edges, looks promising.

Aroma of toasted grain, not much else.

Very grainy and alcoholic on the palate. Some bitterness from the hops, but not much flavor. Maple syrup on the back end, minus the sweetness. Not a bad pint, but sort of unusual. Buttery diacetyl in the aftertaste.

Plenty of carbonation, it feels good for an ale. Can't drink more than one though.

This is being touted as something that's kinda like Arrogant Bastard. It's... well let's look at what the website has to say about it:

This Rat, who is not to be confused with his cousin, Dirty Rat, is a very full bodied ale. This unadulterated beer is of complex malt character with slight citrus hop flavor and bitterness. A brew balanced to leave you satisfied!

Uh huh.

Well the poor was sort of limp. Prettyish, but almost no head. Looks a tad undercarboanted, too.

Smells like sour malt and the tiniest bit of citrus hops.

Tastes like it smells, only more sour malt and fewer hops.

This is what happens when you get someone trying to bring Arrogant Bastard to a general audience. And it's not good.

(Served in an American pint glass)
On the menu it is listed as a full-bodied pale ale

A- This beer has a hazy brown body with a glow of light shining through the bottom half of the glass. There is a thick creamy film of head that last a good long while and the beer has a gentle carbonation of bubbles popping of the side of the glass.

S- This beer has notes of pine hops and a dry toffee malt hint. The pine juicy hops come through more and more with warmth and a toasted raw grain note comes through aswell.

T- This beer has a nice pine and citrus rind hop flavor that is green and juicy followed by a softer toasted malt flavor that has a dry finish. The finish is a mix of light toasted malt with a hop bitterness.

M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with no alcohol at all in the finish.

D- This beer has nice hops flavor with the support of some nice toasted malt notes which makes this a good session beer. It is nice to taste a pale ale with some darker malts.
