On cask at the brewery. One of their many rotating English Bitters.
A: Pours a pale orange color, with a touch of haze, but clears up after a minute. A dense white head forms with excellent retention and lace left down the glass. This is a looker.
S: Earthy spicy hops, lightly fruity, and a minerality in the aroma. Very subtle, very English. Very much enjoyable, and to style.
T: That earthy, spicy, mineral like hop character. Just enough sweetness and fruity esters, then comes some bread and light honey like sweetness. A bitterness dries it out in the finish. Very enjoyable.
M/O: A medium body with perfect carbonation for a cask. Ultra, silky smooth that just makes me want to gulp this down.
The sum is greater than the parts here. I think this is classic EKG (East Kent Golding) or Fuggle hops. Though I can't be sure. Which gives a particular earthy, almost mineral character to me. It is classic and spot on. Also one of those offerings that just gets better the more you drink and the less you think. Very well done.
