Hidden Sands Brewing Co. "608' DIPA"
16 fl. oz. can without prodcution codes or freshness dating (this can just got missed)
$3.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: Normally I'd put a can without dating at the back of my lineup for reviewing but I know that Hidden Sands does date their cans and this one probably just got missed so I thought I'd get it in now. It's poured a hazy amber colored body beneath a finger's width of off-white foam. The aroma expresses citrus, pine, grainy and bready malt, oranges, berries, some spiciness, and a touch of floral character that reminds me of lillies. The flavor, unsurprisingly, follows. I've looked at the label and it's brewed with rye and I can clearly find that in both the aroma and flavor. The orange note remains, courtesy of Amarillo, the berries via Mosaic, and the pine from Centennial. Those are the only three hops, right? Yes. The malt is gently sweet, just lightly caramelish, and spicy from the rye. There are oats in there as well but I don't find the oats myself. A firm bitterness balances it and it finishes mainly dry with some citrus, spice, and pine lingering. The alcohol is well hidden but it's only 7.0% so that's not a stretch. In the mouth it's medium bodied leaning towards medium-full, and gently crisp before warming to become smooth across the palate. The head held up well and All in all I have to say that this is a solid, well brewed DIPA that delivers all around.

12/23/21 4 pack from Dry Tavern. $15!
Beautiful gold Amber color.
Mouth feel is incredible! Velvety.
Taste is pine, mineral comes across. Good bitterness all the way through the tasting. Nothing seems too out of balance. Very nice selection. Not sure is worth the premium price, though. Would not buy again at this price.

Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a hazy, honey-orange color with a creamy, eggshell-colored had and thick, soapy lacing. The nose features rye bread, caramel, lemon, grapefruit, and lite floral hops. The taste opens fairly sweet with caramel malt and oats but is nicely balanced by dry rye cracker and the bitterness of the Centennial and Amarillo hops. There is a pleasant tanginess. The oats contribute to this ale's thick, creamy mouth feel and the 7% ABV seems modest. Overall, 608 provides a lot of flavor and drinking pleasure for its modest alcohol level. It's quite good an I would consider purchasing cans next time.
