Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It's a slightly cloudy, bright orange color with a big, fluffy, ecru cap and thick, soapy lacing. The smell includes fresh lemon and grapefruit with a strong dose of orange zest and a whiff of pine sprig. Its taste just pops with big, ripe orange, along with tart lemon and grapefruit and pine sap. The addition of orange accentuates the Amarillo and Centennial hops in a big way. At first, I noticed less malt presence than in the base 608' recipe but as it warmed a bit the Maris Otter and Crystal malts provide some additional sweetness and the rye adds dry cracker notes. Like 608' the bitterness is biting throughout. This ale has a lite, clean feel with appropriate carbonation, and it actually drinks big for the 7% ABV. Overall, Citrus DIPA is a great variant of 608'. It is tasty and refreshing.
