Gift from a co-worker - thanks, Ivy! :)
Canned 9/22/21.
Slightly hazy deep reddish copper, with just short of three fingers of long-lasting tan head. The haze isn't to-style, but otherwise looks good, and inviting.
Smell is the usual toffee, caramel, and a bit of toasted brown bread. As with many O-fests, what's there is good, but there's not a lot of it.
Taste is caramel, toffee, a touch of molasses, and bread crust with a bit of rye tang. Light drying bitterness at finish, leading to a lingering bread crust flavor.
Feel is medium, slightly slick/syrupy, with moderate , fine carbonation tingle. Drying finish, that lingers afterward, leaving the front of the tongue feeling lightly sanded off. Seems a bit heavy for what it is.
Overall, while nowhere near my favorite O-fests, it's still enjoyable. I wouldn't turn it down , if offered.
