Nothing too crazy, medium lighter blonde yellow body, one finger white head. Mild malt, mild spice, fairly nondescript floral hops. Has perhaps a bit of sweetness from the honey, but otherwise foregettable. Lighter medium body, good carbonation, goes down easy.

this is a popular style, the honey rye, i feel like the synergy between those two ingredients is awesome, and a lot of brewers have latched onto it. with these becoming quite common lately, there are a few things that always stand out in the good ones that i look for when i am trying new examples of this style. one, the first one, immediately, is freshness. there is something magic about fresh rye malt and springy floral honey that has made this such a popular combination, and freshness is everything, if its too old the honey is always faded, or the rye malt deteriorates to a bready dusty thing, but when fresh pollen and floral honey meet dry earthy spicy rye, its magic. this one definitely has the freshness. the second thing for me is the honey, a lot of times it gets fermented out too much to really appreciate it, like the sweetness might remain but its essence does not. this one is close on that, it has sweetness but the flavor of the honey isnt as robust as it could be. finally, the rye malt, so many of these are real conservative with it, just a small percentage of their grain bills actually being rye, but i like it bold and peppy and high in these, and this one does a pretty nice job with that, its middle of the road enough to be approachable, but the rye influence is obvious in the flavor and i really like that. a little fuller bodied than most here, a bit sweet with that, but a really tasty, fresh, and drinkable beer, satisfying to me, and exactly what it says it is. well done.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear amber color with a one finger head of just off white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving one with a tiny bit of fizzy foam on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is heaviest of a lightly toasted malt smell mixed with some honey aromas. Along with these smells comes some light aromas of caramel and a little bit of herb and a light rye.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather sweet honey and lightly toasted malt flavor that has a little bit of rye malt. The rye gets stronger in nature as the taste advances with the honey growing stronger as well. At the end ,a little bit herb and a bit more toasted rye malt come to the tongue, leaving one with a nice somewhat sweet rye, amber taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light with a carbonation level that is average. For the sweeter taste and light roast the feel is rather nice and makes for a rather easy drinking brew.
Overall – A rather nice amber style brew with a bit of rye and light honey flavor that makes it rather enjoyable.
