Sweets is brewed in collaboration with and inspired by Wild Crumb Bakery's Fruit Tarts. Sweets is brewed with lactose and absurd amounts of fruit tart crust from Wild Crumb Bakery. We then conditioned this Berliner Weisse base on copious amounts of fruit and Tahitian Vanilla Bean. This edition is fruited with Blood Orange and Toasted Coconut. How much Blood Orange and Toasted Coconut you ask??? 588lbs of Blood Orange puree and 100lbs of Toasted Coconut for 10bbl of beer.

Kettle Sour
Mountains Walking Brewing
Sweets Sour Ale with Blood Orange and Toasted Coconut
ABV: 5.5%
Date: 08/25/2021
I picked this beer up from the brewery when I visited last year. The temp is 38 degrees, and I served in my Jester King glass. The pour created a frothy and airy one-finger head. The retention was quick, leaving bits of fruit on the glass. The color charts around SRM 4, pale gold with straw yellow hues. The beer is loaded with fruit, making clarity impossible. I would have liked to see the head last longer than one second.
The aromas I smell first are oranges and coconut with a light biscuit note. Nosing the glass several more times, I detect lemons, vanilla, and light straw notes.
The sourness is on display with lemons and oranges giving it a pucker factor. Other flavors are coconut, crackers, a hint of floral, vanilla, and subtle fruity sweetness on end.
The mouthfeel is tart and bright. The body is light with fruity pulp, and the carbonation is medium. The finish is sour, with some sweetness balancing it out.
I have eaten blood oranges, yet the beer does not have that reddish tint. The oranges are potent, hiding the coconut and vanilla. I enjoy the beer, but I want more coconut flavors.

16oz can from Tavour. Orange / peach colored pour, fizzy head, sticky bits of lacing. Aroma is blood orange first, elements of the coconut and vanilla creeping in after. Taste presents the coconut much more strongly, while tangy blood orange pairs nicely with the sourness of the brew. Vanilla brings a soft sweetness that tempers the sourness a bit.

A: The beer is very hazy brownish yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that rapidly dissipated and completely faded away.
S: Moderate aromas of sour blood orange and coconut are present in the nose.
T: The taste is a bit sweet and sour and has strong flavors of toasted coconut along with notes of blood orange.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a slight bit of tartness.
O: This beer seems like it is very sugary (making me feel like I will need to brush my teeth) but the sweetness is mellowed out by the sourness. I found the combination of blood orange and coconut to be interesting as also tasted a bit like a pineapple.

Deep orange hazy body. Modest head production; poor retention.
Fairly restrained aroma. Mild milky Berliner Weisse sourness; vanilla and cream; perhaps hints of citrus, but there's no significant orange and coconut aroma.
Incredibly juicy on the palate, with waves and waves of juicy orange, light biscuity pastry crust, with coconut adding a lovely and understated complement, along with vanilla.
Thick and creamy; much larger body than the small ABV would suggest. Lively bite, and modestly puckering.

Pours a dark orange color. Thick 3 fingers bubbly head quickly collapses leaving no residual head. Once the head is gone, the beer still appears lively and prickly similar to a carbonated soda.
Aroma has notes of blood orange, some light tartness, a hint of coconut and a light generic sweetness on the nose. Not getting much in the way of vanilla as it just seems to be rolled into the light lactose notes.
Taste is somewhat tart up front with notes of blood orange, orange, and some general sweetness. The vanilla and coconut are really subtle here, almost too the point of missing. The overall effect is one of a more classic Berliner with blood orange.
Feel is light, mildly carbonated with a tartness that produces a puckering sensation up front. Semi-dry finish.
Overall this was an enjoyable beer. It lacked and real presence of some of the noted ingredients on the can, but the overall effect was really nice and worked well.

I am not a sour fan so when a trader sent me this I did not expect too much. I was wrong. A great beer. Will not replace my IPAs but I am enjoying the hell out of this. Was told it is a berliner wisse and not a sour. OK. I do not care. It is a good beer.
