Seasonal Series DDH Nelson Sauvin, Oat Whip NEIIPA.

This Hazy DDH Double IPA is brewed with Pilsner as the base malt, 50% oats, and a dash of wheat. This is the third of our “Oat Whip” series and is double dry-hopped exclusively with Freestyle Farms Nelson Sauvin(NZ) at a rate of nearly 7lbs per barrel. Look for huge notes of white grape, pear and apricot.

My first beer from Mountains Walking and it was a hit! One of the better ipa's I had the entire year. Love nelson Sauvin featured as well.

L: Very hazy pour, head dissipates fairly quickly but leaves a big sticky lace. Light orange/ mango color, murky/ turbid showcasing the "oat whip" attribute of the beer.

S: Big mango, melon, tropical hit to the nostrils. clean and inviting.

T: more tropical fruit, some peach/ pear as well. Sweet caramel malt but not heavy handed. Sugary in the profile, not biscuity/ nutty whatever. A bit sweet at only 20 IBUS, but not cloying. Perhaps a bit more bitterness would be welcome for balance. Still, delicious , wonderful showcase of tropical flavors. No noticeable off flavors.

F: Medium body, oily mouth-feel, goes down smooth, lingers nicely on the palate, clean getaway. Not harsh or astringent

O: Love this! the Nelson really pops in the nose and mouth and its brewed wonderfully, very clean, delicious ipa I have been seeking out. everyone should try this if possible! I'd love to try the other Clould curtain hop varieties if this is an indicator of the series!

A-nice off-orange opaque with prodigious super cloudy smooth head
S-pops with citrus and floral
T-White or green grapes, plus some grapefruit. Average sweet, slightly above bitter
M-pillowy clouds, just like the name. Didn't notice the carbonation because I was too busy swishing oat whip goodness.
O-A top-10 beer for me. The third best overall NEIPA behind Heady and Fremont fresh hop HFoD.

Stumbled on this one at Woodland as well and had to try it, MW can make some quality beer. Milky orange juice pours leads to solid opacity and a thin ring of off-yellow head in the glass...the Nelson is exquisite in this one, floral and bright and pungent and zesty with big notes of lemon and lime, solid dankness. That zippy dry-hop character is well-executed and the creamy body shows off that oat addition well. This is very well done.

Not bad.. smooth, sweeter than expected, a fair bit of distinct Nelson character. Good haze, medium lighter bodied, good carbonation. This one took some time to grow on me, but by the 4th can in the pack, this was a solid NE DIPA for me. Wish it was a bit softer, but otherwise hits the right notes.

Taster at brewery. Pale, milky yellow, ring of white head. Aroma is citrus and floral. Taste is exquisite, with the oats bringing lovely textures to the full flavors. A real treat. Returned from my trip to MT to find a can of this in my Tavour crate. Milky, hazy yellow, with creamy head. Light citrus aroma, with floral accents. Smooth, genle citrusy flavors. Superb

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy yellow in color and has some whitish hues. It poured with a finger high frothy white head that left a short head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass after it died down.
S: Moderate aromas of green grapes and gooseberries are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has lots of flavors of green gapes along with notes of gooseberries towards the finish. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied, a bit smooth and rather juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought that this beer was quite unique given all of the oats (with really lightened up the body) and all of the green grape flavors. It was exceptionally easy to drink and any traces of alcohol were completely hidden from the taste.

White grape and gooseberry aroma bursting from the glass. Beautiful peach colored haze with a thick and creamy mouthfeel. Absurdly juicy, and finishes with a wonderfully bitter dry down. If you like Nelson, this is the beer for you. Hot damn!
