Tasted at the taproom in a sampler flight.
L - Deepest brown, but seems to be clear. Dark tan head clings around the glass.
S - Not an overly interesting aroma. Some light roasted grain, but mainly sweet caramel and herbal hops.
T - Flavors also lacking in intensity and focus for an imperial stout. Roasted grains are there, but are overtaken by a sweet caramel and molasses character.
F - Moderate to light body is off for style. Low to moderate carbonation. Light to medium hops bitterness. Alcohol is well-hidden.
O - Disappointing for the style, but ok as a more generic “stout”.
