Pours a hazy, bright orange coloration with a medium, fluffy, lasting head. Smells of light biscuity malt and berry/tropical hops, with notes of white grape, gooseberry and passion fruit. Taste is an excellent balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly dank hops, with berry, tropical and lighter citrus notes of white grape, gooseberry red currant, passion fruit and orange, as well as just a hint of grassy weed. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some white grape, gooseberry and passion fruit lingering in the aftertaste. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I think that Nelson and Enigma are a match made in heaven and they work together so well here with those strong berry and lighter tropical and citrus notes, which really come through quite vibrant and well-defined here, while there is quite a range of other fruity notes to this as well. It also feels rather full and rich for a single IPA, with a great mouthfeel. I've had a few NEIPAs by Arpus lately and they have all really impressed me, with this probably being my favorite so far. I might actually go so far as to say that these guys are making some of the finest NEIPAs in Europe right now. A very enjoyable example of the style with vibrant, juicy hops and a great body and mouthfeel.
