We brewed this beer with Ryan Jackle of Wise Man, who previously worked at the Brew Shed (sense a theme here?). Altbier is a somewhat uncommon style, and this one is complexly malty up front but balanced on the finish by firm bitterness.

Look: It pours dark amber with a light brown head. It has good clarity and a strong, long lasting head.
Smell: It has a strong bready aroma low spices and low fruity esters. The esters are of cherries.
Taste: The flavors are rich and bready with some nuts. There are cherry like flavors as secondary notes. There are also low levels of spicy hops in the background.
Feel: It has a moderate feel to it with moderately low bitterness.
Overall, this is a malty rich beer than is balanced by moderately low cherry and spicy notes.
