Appearance: Arrives mahogany colored with a rather thin head that fades away leaving a few spots behind
Smell: Spice cake aromatics, with brown sugar, cherry, fig and date tones
Taste: Brown sugar and spice cake flavors forward with the cherry, fig and date tones adding complexity; a touch of orange peel bitterness cuts the sweetness back, in the mid-palate, with a flash of warming alcohol arriving in the finish; overall, this beer does a good job masking the ABV
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; slight warmth in the gullet
Overall: You don't see this style done often by craft brewers these days but this is a great selection to celebrate this brewery's first anniversary
