When we were working with our amazing pals at North Brewing Co last year, we were astounded at how little whirlpool hops they added in the first stage of the brewing process. Imparting less bitterness is something we've been keen to explore in our beers, and we achieved this through bringing the whirlpool temp down, and whirlpooling for much less time, meaning more hops for dry-hopping! Almost 40kg of Citra, Enigma, Galaxy, Mosaic, and Simcoe ended up going into this beer during fermentation, and the results stand for themselves. An absolute juice bomb of a beer, and possibly our best to date.

Pours a hazy, orange, coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity malt and citrus/tropical hops, with notes of grapefruit, passion fruit and mango, as well as some gooseberry. Taste is a great balance between biscuity malt and vibrant, fruity hops, with notes of zesty grapefruit and lime peel, sweet passion fruit and slighty acidic/tangy mango and gooseberry, as well as just a hint of pine. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some grapefruit, mango and gooseberry lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
A great IPA with a really nice interplay of the different hop varieties used here, with varied, vibrant, almost juicy fruit notes of zesty citrus, sweet tropical fruits and slighty acidic/tangy gooseberry, while finishing with a good, piney bitterness.
