Believe it or not, Arron is big on Mediterranean culture; and when we were looking for a name for our newest Augment beer, he suggested a reference to the Morphou region of Cyprus, famed for its citrus fruits, of which our beers pack the flavour profiles to the nines with.
We noticed looking at a map of the region, a little village called Kyra jumped out at us, and a name was born. We delved a little deeper, and discovered a meaning of the name literally translating from the Ancient Egyptian “like Ra” or “Beam of Light”. This beer completely fits its translation; pure sunshine trapped in a glass to remind you of dear, departed summer.
Hops: Enigma, Galaxy, Vic Secret

Copenhagen 7/1 2024. 44 cl can from Best of Beers webshop. White carton like look on the can with Polly's droplet in gold.
Pours opaque hazy, slightly dirty yellow with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with sweet malts and ripe Stone fruit mingling with citrus fruit. Peach and mango. Grapefruit and lemon. Resin. Dry vibe.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a strong citric sour bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter- Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
Appropriately bitter and dry.

Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity malt and and tropical/berry hops, with notes of mango, passion fruit and white grape, as well as some herbal, piney accents. Taste follows the nose, with an excellent balance of biscuity malt and tropical/berry hops, with some vibrant, juicy mango and passion fruit notes, as well as slightly acidic white grape and some distinct herbal, piney accents. Finishes with a light acidity, medium bitterness and some mango, white grape and herbal notes lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Another great NEIPA from Polly's Brew, with their signature balance of juicy and herbal, earthy notes and a good bitterness in the finish, while this also has a slight acidity going for it thanks to the white grape notes from the Enigma hops, Nelson Sauvin's underrated younger brother. All in all quite a terrific brew with an excellent balance of juicy tropical, acidic berry and earthy herbal notes that is quite refreshing and enjoyable, with a good mouthfeel as well.
