We’ve been huge fans of the wonderful Beak pretty much since they first landed on our radars - operating a similar philosophy to ourselves in largely focusing on and perfecting their pale and hoppy output, we’ve been very lucky to share festival spaces with our friends from Lewes over the last twelve months, fostering a working friendship based on mutual approaches to where modern beer is placed in 2026. Coming together to collaborate for our eighth birthday meant there could only be one style we could brew - an IPA at that magical ABV in which the sweet spot lies for both breweries. Wanting to make a conscious effort to embrace the progression of our industry with the recipe on this beer, we’ve brought no less than five hop varieties to the party; showcasing current and progressive technologies in the brewing process. With a dry hop charge of 20g/l, pushing toward DIPA levels of intensity, we’ve utilised Idaho 7 and Nelson Sauvin in their classic T90 pellet form, along with their CGX versions - the latest technology from Crosby Hops using cryogenic processes to concentrate the flavour and intensity brought to the table. With a final flourish of New Zealand Hop’s latest experimental variety NZ-106 and a whisper of Abstrax Hops Skyfarm Pineapple, the result is a pillowy soft IPA, singing with guava, mango, and passionfruit, with bright pine and citrus notes underneath. Taking the artwork on this one is local enigma Jim Jones, who leaned into the German heritage of the bauhaus.

Copenhagen 5/5 2026. 44 cl can from A good Case web-shop- Can with black, red and yellow stripes going in all directions and two interposed eights in silver.
Pours opaque, hazy golden yellow with a big white head. Stable and fluffy. Settles beautifully as a 4 cm thick layer of foam obscuring the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense despite the massive amount of foam. Sweet ripe stone fruits mingling with a subtle scent of citrus fruit. Peach and a little bit of mango. Grapefruit and lemon.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, oily, smooth, a bit creamy, gently tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a strong citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is fairly dry,
Zesty and bitter with a silky touch. Fine Birthday brew.
