I am a mug club member at NRB and as such a bit biased. IPA is a good gateway beer and this one is why I come back again and again. Hard to find in cans but they should be canning this one again soon. The brewery seems to be more focused on IPA 2.0 which is also good but more of a New England style IPA
This IPA is still what I measure others by in the Portland ME area. The APV level isn’t over the top and since this is so drinkable you will appreciate that after 64oz.
It pours a dark amber and has a great hop aroma with virtually no citrus flavor which is hard to find in Maine.
Stop by this brewery/taproom and you will find their IPA will keep you coming back!

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Beer is a slightly hazy copper with a thin head. Not much of a nose. Some generic hops with hints of fir and orange, and some malty sweetness. Taste follows the nose. Malt balanced with a pleasantly bitter hop finish, with notes of orange rind. The mouthfeel is light and pleasant. Overall I'd say this is a good, straightforward IPA. Refreshing and good, although nothing out of the ordinary.

First beer from these guys - saw them in a Kittery store and thought I'd give them a try.
Pours a hazy and unusually dark umber-orange color for an IPA. Biscuit 3 finger frothy head leaves a little lacing on the way down.
The aroma is moderate on the hops - a crisp citrus - and there is a light malt flavor coming across.
The flavor is a nice lightly toasted, lightly sweet grain with some bitterness up front. The moderate bitterness sticks around longer into the finish. There is a light sweetness that counterbalances well. There is also some grapefruit on the finish lingering around that, with the sweetness, could maybe be in the tangerine range.
The feel is a little sticky on the lips and somewhat soft. I find it a little hollow in the flavor profile too.
This is a fairly well done east coast IPA with a well balanced malt profile countered with airy citrus hops. It is a nice respite from the very hoppy IPAs I've been downing. I like the lower alcohol level in it as well. Well done and thanks guys!
