Elder Pine is the embodiment of our creative spirit. It is our passionate pursuit of better beer. Built on our family farm, we brew, and we blend, focusing on classic styles with a modern twist. We are committed to quality and excellence and pay homage to the pioneers before us by honoring purity in our ingredients and integrity in our methods. Our beer is ever evolving but rooted in tradition and our community. Who are we? George, Paul, David, and Andrew. Two brewers and two brothers. Friends and family. Musicians, artists, engineers, and chemists. But most importantly, beer lovers. Join us on our journey.

WHY BLENDING?
Blending is the art of combining beers into a harmonious array of flavors, textures, and aromas for a truly remarkable and unique experience. In particular, our barrel-aged sour beers will be fine-tuned and balanced through the blending process. Each souring vessel is unique and behaves differently from another vessel even mere inches away. The characteristic of these barrel-aged beers provides a dynamic palette for us to create the optimal blend at that particular moment in time.

Getting here was half the fun. Through winding roads in the Maryland countryside, over a dam, past a reservoir, even a few other farm breweries, all during peak Fall foliage season. Once you turn in to the property there is a large pine grove with chairs and picnic tables. A blanket of needles and cones covered the grounds. A large covered patio with 12 taps stood just outside the tap room itself. Everything was very inviting, clean and comfortable. Great service to boot. Good range of beer styles. Their WCIPA, with its piney character, blended in well with the setting. Also enjoyed the Czech dark larger and a rye porter. Food trucks make regular visits if the urge for a munchie hits. The Waredaca Brewery sits close by and the Brookeville Brewery is about 4 miles away, if feeling adventurous.

A good brewery with a very lively atmosphere that has wide selection of beers. The New England IPAs I tried were above average. They have a lot of their beers available as 4 packs and have a good selection of bottles to go. Highly recommended as a beer trip.

Had a nice selection of beers across many styles. Food truck food appeared delicious (didn’t eat any, just seeing other people’s plates). Staff was nice and attentive. What makes this brewery experience special is the pine grove seating area in the back. It’s such a wonderful place to sit and have beers. Very well kept with no underbrush. Highly recommend a visit.

A smallish tasting room, but there are plenty of tables out on the patio and surrounding yard. A fair amount of parking fir a small spot, but I could see it getting packed on a busier day.

They had over a dozen beers on tap when we visited (summer), but they were focused in the lighter categories. Saisons, IPAs, witbiers (some with fruit), and a couple Pilsners. The beers we tried were all pretty solid and consistent to style. There was a similar opening sweetness in some beers that I didn’t enjoy, but even those recovered before each traversed my entire palate.

Friendly and attentive staff manned the place on a lazy Sunday afternoon. They have a food truck on a regular basis, and the schedule for them is on the website.

I tried 3 beers of styles I generally like - stout, sour, double IPA - but they were mediocre & a flight cost more than others in the area. Nice vibe, nonetheless.
