473ml can - the marketing blurb describes this as having 'a noble hop character'. Wouldn't that make it more English in style? I guess we shall see.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with three chubby fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly eggshell white head, which leaves a decent array of frilly lace around the glass as it lazily sinks out of sight.

It smells lightly of gritty and grainy cereal malt, faint generic citrus rind, some hard water stoniness, and ethereal earthy, musty, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and crackery pale malt, subtle watery citrus notes, a damp minerality, and more well-understated leafy, floral, and grassy hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its palate-satisfying frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and mostly smooth, with nothing really going on here that might be considered cause for concern. It finishes trending dry, the Alberta craft malt kind of whistling in the lingering darkness.

Overall - wow, I don't know if the hops in this offering are noble or not, but they certainly do not possess anything remotely resembling 'character'. Not knowing ahead of time, I would have pegged this as a typical Blonde Ale, made to be as uninteresting, and thus inoffensive as possible. Won't be reaching for this one again.
