Common Space Brewery

This was another beer that I picked up at the Whole Foods in Burbank, California a few months back when I was out on the left coast. Never had this before, nor had I reviewed anything from Common Space, as this was quite the introduction to them! Although the can said Double Milkshake IPA, I'm pretty sure that this was the same as the P.O.G. since they were listed on the label as among the adjuncts.

Those were nice flavors, as they meshed well together, but could have been a bit more up-front in the aroma. As it was, the appearance of this beer was a golden mix of those flavors with a moderate head topping them off. Only a few dots of lacing remained behind as the suds nearly disappeared upon my first sip. A tangy and exotic aroma could be felt, with a bit of vanilla to boot, as the flavors really burst forth on my tongue. Quite sweet, this *almost* felt artificial and sugar-enhanced but of course, that wasn't the case. Some honey stickiness, hard candy, and cotton candy emerged as this warmed up as some milk sugar or more lactose would have been welcome.

In the end, it was nearly impossible to detect any alcohol and the carbonation was present enough to keep things lighthearted. Canned on 4/16 of this year, only a few bits of dark sediment could be seen as this held up well over the last three months. While not quite like the Milkshake IPA's that I love from Tired Hands and Omnipollo, this was a fun beer that never felt like a gimmick and wasn't too over the top. Glad I was able to find this out west!

Cotton candy and fluffy stuff, too sweet.

 

Holy God this beer is amazing. The aroma explodes from the glass with cotton candy, guava, melon, berry, pine, honey, caramel, and so much more! It is SO SMOOTH AND DRINKABLE especially for 8%, absolutely crazy stuff here!
