16oz pint at the brewery. Dosed with a United Colors of Benetton level of hop varietals. Also, named after a bronzed sparrow statue that was purloined from their washroom, apparently.

This beer appears a hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with one thick finger of puffy, loosely foamy, and somewhat bubbly eggshell white head, which leaves some decent streaky and sudsy lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells of bready and doughy cereal malt, muddled domestic citrus rind, some hard water flintiness, and more leafy, weedy, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy pale malt, wet Wheat Thins, still difficult to parse citrus notes, some damp minerality, and more understated earthy, herbal, and piney verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its structurally supportive frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and generally smooth, with nothing really getting in the way of a swell time at this particular juncture. It finishes trending dry, the mixed malt and fading frooty esters holding the lingering court.

Overall - this comes across as a pleasantly rendered, hoppy wheat ale, nothing complicated, and easy enough to throw back. And even though I have pizza waiting for me at home, their Banh Mi looks incredibly good. Ah well.
