Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head. Gentle dissipation. Sly stringy lace. The aroma had some dark malts, nice roast to them. Then piney bitter/resinous hops. Some citrusy hops underneath. The flavor takes the previously mentioned aromas to blend nicely. Crisp bitterness of the piney and citrusy hops flow on over into the aftertaste and glide into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body perhaps leaning towards the medium side with a decent grip from the hops to allow a good harshness on my tongue. ABV felt like the brewer intended it to be. Overall, pretty good spot on black IPA that I could have again.
