A: The beer is very dark reddish amber in color - too dark to see if there is any visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high light beige head that died down a bit but consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of toffee are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of toffee with notes of caramel. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very malty but seems to have just enough underlying hops to mask any sweetness.

Poured from a 16 oz can. Pours dark, amber, reddish with an initial heavy dose of white foamy head, which recedes rapidly. Decent amount of burnt malt taste but nothing too strong. Good hop bitterness to complement the malt. For my buds, needs a bit more ABV to make a nice style.

A: looked much darker when I was pouring it, but it's a crystal clear deep reddish amber; less than a 1 finger tan head that receded quickly to a big bubbled ring; nice lacing;
S: nutty, caramel, sweet malt;
T: moderately sweet from start to finish; more caramel up front; more nutty toward the finish; aftertaste is a nice balance of both;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;
O: would pair well with a burger;

An average pour from a 16-oz. can creates a creamy but short lived light tan head with no lacing. Murky and semi-opaque, dark iced tea brown color with a hint of red.
Caramel malt greets the nose with roasted malt (barley&wheat) and some toasted biscuit, faint earthy fresh cut grass and herbal hops with raisin, spiced baked pears and nuts.
Taste features caramel malt which adds to the bready and malty smooth feel. All items from the smell follow, the nut flavor is toasted walnut and the spice is bold and peppery. Semi-sweet and moderately bitter at first, roasted bitterness rises over hops as it drys with an astringent tang at the long finish. A semi-dry, bitter and astringent aftertaste lingers.
Medium body, average carbonation. Smooth and balanced until the finish/aftertaste.
Alcohol is noticeable, a bit dark and not very red/amber for the style. label states "American Amber Ale", this would do better as an American Brown Ale. Enjoyable none the less.
I hope this is the canned on date and not the BB. 08/01/2019
