Poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance had a dark brown color in the glass, close to black. The pour itself yielded more of an eggshell white foamy head moderately falling off and leaving some slim wispy concave lace.
The aroma had a wonderful blend of espresso roast, sweet coffee, milk chocolate, subtle dark chocolate and toasty cocoa powder with an ever so slight edge of sweet ash.
The flavor took all of those prior mentioned aromas to blend together mostly towards the sweet side and adding a touch of earthy hop bitterness. Mellow aftertaste of espresso roast and cocoa powder.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fine sessionability about it. Good carbonation with a very nice smoothness. Some stickiness but acceptable then a fine finish of sweet roasted nuts, dark chocolate and dark toast.
Overall, one of those coffee brown ales I sometimes don't always know exactly what style to add on here (American or English), but if someone knows more about this beer feel free to chime in. I know I would definitely welcome this again.
