its cool to do a lighter version of this style, this is something we just dont see enough of and a beer i would order almost every brewery visit if it were more widely available, but perhaps i am in the minority on that. this is lighter in color than most, brassy rather than amber, and it has a nice high rising white head on it from the tap, good clarity, and still a great full malt complexion to it despite the lighter color. well integrated and almost aged tasting on the grain, some pils type and some wheat malt i would suspect, simple and delicate. the yeast is a little less interesting than i was hoping for, and it presents itself more like a belgian table beer or something than a funky saison-esque biere de garde, but its really well done, fermented down to dry, grassy and vinous, and very drinkable and refreshing, highly carbonated, with hints of lemongrass and dried herbs at the end. springy and summery, old worldy enough to be intriguing, and just a really nice beer overall. these guys impressed me with their beers!
