16oz can, adhesive label. Bottom stamp is 'GOW 12/15/25', about six weeks in the can.
Clear, deep gold colored body. Two fingers of white head with the pour quickly retreat to an interrupted cap and high clinging ring. Leaves behind scattered short lacing strings.
Aroma of mango, passionfruit, green melon, dank pine, and a little onion.
Taste is initially semi-sweet but ends dank and bitter. Flavors of lemon, mango, dank pine, orange, passionfruit, melon, and touch of astringency. Aftertaste stays earthy, tannic, and bitter.
Medium mouthfeel. Metallic touch, and this leads to a clean and dry finish. Not a palate wrecker. Very good carbonation.
Quickly does away with any sweetness and dives into tannic bitterness. Good body clarity and color.

This IPA is a little to piney for my taste. Had a flight 0f 4 and this was my least favorite. Still a good beer with a nice hop aroma. Rated 8-26-2018

Cheers, Doug! Taster at Loyal Legion. Returning to the a classic bitter NW IPA style. Piney and dry. Pale, clear golden with small head, ample lacing. Mildly astringent.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a two finger, somewhat fizzy head that dissipates to a thick cap with nice lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and tropical fruit hops, lemon, melon, mango and other mixed tropical fruit. Flavor is pale malt, citrus hops, orange, grapefruit, yuzu, a touch of pineapple and mixed tropical fruit. Fleeting estery fruit flavor in the finish with solid bitterness that introduces a light piney note. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A somewhat laid back, but solid West Coast style IPA. One of the hybrid ones with some tropical fruit hops to make life interesting, but not enough to be a cloying fruit bomb. Although with some satisfying alpha oil bitterness, the herbal flavors in the finish taper off somewhat like in a NE style IPA. Nothing earth shaking ("Overkill" might be a little exaggerated), but a solid, non-hazy IPA with some fleeting interesting fruit notes.

Pint at Westside Taphouse in West Salem OR.
$7
Clear lighter orange/golden coloured body. Small whispy white head.
Nice citrus and floral hop aromas.
Balanced yet very hoppy taste. Strange but great.
Mouth feel near perfect for a warm Memorial weekend evening.

Poured from the can, the beer pours a light copper amber color with good head retention and lacing. The nose and flavor profile are classic west coast, as I pick up pepper, pine onion, and a hint of underlying tropical fruit that is intriguing. The flavor profile replicates the nose in this dry, dank, moderately bitter ipa. There's definitely a lot of flavor in this 6.5%, completely in your face west coast style ipa. On the other hand, mouthfeel is fairly light, but with a hint of heat on the finish.
This is the complete antithesis of the ne style ipa, ad there's considerable bitterness and not whole lot of citrus or tropical fruit on the palate. Frankly, it's kind of a welcome change, and is an absolute bargain when compared to things fruit bombs from Revision and Hill Farmstead (16 ounce can was $3.50).

First can running from these badasses across the river. Honor and a privilege to be a part of it.
Overkill is stunning. Finger print clarity through the glass of this polished brass beauty. A think white head is coarse bubbled and leaves spotty lacing from head to toe.
Passion fruit, grapefruit rind, and pine billow from the surface. A touch of cookie dough like sweetness cuts through.
The flavor follows with hints if melon and tropical fruits. Diesel? Well, to me it's more of a burnt rubber number but toe-may-toe, toe-mah-toe. Either way, it works.
Clean and bitter with a sweetness that catches the back wave. Ends dry making this one easy drinking beer.
Bottom line, this is damn good. Classic feel with modern twists. I've already established myself as a fan. Glad to be able to get Grains of Wrath on more than just tap handles from now on.
Cheers.

Can from The Beermongers.
A clear light copper with a dense white head with good retention and lacing this looks great. The nose is a delightful blend of pine, stone fruit and citrus. Peach, mandarin, navel orange and a touch of weed is present. No real malt character here. The palate opens bitter and resiny with pine and citrus peel oils. This is followed by layers of flavors of peach, passionfruit, satsuma mandarin and again, a little weed. No real malt character here, this pure hops. Drying, bitter on the finish, this beer is medium light in body and softly carbonated. A mild fruitiness lingers on in the finish. An excellent beer, Lemmy would be proud.
