This dark strong wheat ale is a big one, with flavors and aromas of spicy banana bread, toffee, fig and chocolate.

This beer pours a medium brown color with a small head. It has a nice mild aroma with sweetness and toffee and spiciness, plus some fruit also. Not quite sure what fruit though. Very Good beer. Rated 2-23-2024

lovely take on the style, really good, i have not had nearly enough beers from these guys, and i think about that every time i have something delicious from them, need to make a point to hit the brewery up next time out that way. this is a dark estery wheat beer with a ton of character and one that hides its strength real well. a pretty dark amber to almost garnet red brew, a little wheaty haziness and a nice inch of tightly packed just off white head with lots of bubbles rising to replenish it as it fades, good looking beer. the nose on this shows some of that hefeweizen yeast character, ripe yellow banana, clove, white pepper, citrus, and in this instance maybe a hint of anise seed. the grain is nutty, toffee forward, and a touch sweet, but is so good with the yeast, earthy and sort of autumnal to me. the flavor is quite layered and complex with the deeper wheat character there the whole way. subtle licorice to the yeast as it warms, which is a neat wrinkle, raisin and fig in here for sure too. hints of walnut, dried apple, and even cola, love the way it opens up as it sits, how the yeast drives it but doesnt dominate, and just how much the wheat can be felt, as well as tasted. good carbonation, soft almost creamy feel, well hidden abv, and overall really nice execution in a tricky and all too rare style space!
