Brown Ale with Natural Chestnut Flavor
A malt-forward brown ale with complexity. Notes of bread crust, biscuit, caramel, and chocolate are complemented by a subtle chestnut presence. Balanced by a light addition of hops, this mahogany colored ale is rich in malt flavor and accessible to all palates.
The world bends with the heat of summer and cools into the curvature of fall. As leaves begin to blanket mountain trails, the sweetness of Cherokee chestnut bread beckons us home. Bent trees found on Cherokee lands are believed to be navigational markers. Like these trees, our Chestnut Brown Ale welcomes you home, however you define it, to pull up a seat at our communal table and indulge in rich, malt-forward flavors year-round.

Opaque medium brown body with a tan head and light lacing. Smell and taste are clones: big chestnut with caramel, earth, rustic brown bread and malts, simple yet pleasant, can't say I have had a chestnut brown ale before, though taste backend does bite a bit for the style. Feel is smooth with malts, medium-light bodied, and indeed some earthy nuttiness peers through the body. Would have again in the fall, fun beer to talk about

12 oz can from NC with no dating.
Appearance. Dark brown, nearly dark enough to pass for a stout, with a good beige colored head.
Aroma. Complex for style.
Flavor. Mildly bitter with a bold, malt forward flavor that's spiced up with some more subtle hips.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with carbonation that seems a bit too lively.

Look: It pours brown with a tan head. Head retention is excellent.
Smell: It has a malty, nutty aroma to start with. There are some caramel background notes with low plum and very low cherry.
Taste: It is malt forward with nut flavors combined with low caramel and a low wood element. It has very low plum with very low spice.
Feel: It has a medium body with a slight sweet malt in the after taste.
Overall, a nice easy drinking brown ale with a nice nut and wood element.

Dark brown color. Thick foamy white head. Smooth mouthfeel. Refreshing. Nutty, earthy, and slightly sweet. I think pretty much everything you want out of this style. Never heard of this brewery. Hope to have more enjoyable beers from them.

A: Pours an almost opaque yet still clear very dark mahogany brown in color with light to moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint garnet red + chestnut brown + cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy light tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of very slightly mottled thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly heavier than moderate aromas of bready + toasted + caramel + chocolate malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel + maple syrup sweetness. Light aromas of chestnuts and hints of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are slightly heavier than moderate flavors of bready + toasted + caramel + chocolate malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel + maple syrup sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of chestnut. Finally there is a hint of earthy hops which impart a very light amount of bitterness which fades away quickly leaving lingering sweet maple syrup + chestnut and chocolate malt flavors.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin/watery.
O: Drinks pretty easily with well hidden alcohol though the mouthfeel is a little thin. Enjoyable though I could have used a touch more hops in the brew to balance out the sweetness. Nice prominent chestnut flavors + aromas.

Nice example of a American Amber Ale. Malt forward.
Mahogany color
Smells bready.
Taste, malty.
Mouth feel is smooth and malty.
IBU is 10. For my taste a bit more hoppy would make this excellent beer even better.

12 oz. slim can, date is on a sticker on keeper rings, sure...- poured into pub glass
Clear medium brown, very slight if any head...
Smells chocolatey, beery and inviting, interesting aroma
Chocolatey malty flavor has the right level of sweetness, but tartens up clean and gets really interesting through the glass.
Clean feel and finish makes it easy to drink, especially at 5% abv. Wow really neat.
Overall, the 7 clans Bended Tree Brown Ale is good enough; it has an interesting note or two, not super complex, but there is enough about it to be really good. Maybe my next one will have a chance to warm up and get more complex.
(It didn't). The 6 pack didn't last as long s I thought it would. Would be great in holiday gift season.
